The products link RFID and other existing technologies together to help make management tasks simpler, more accurate and cheaper to use. On Farm Livestock Data Management IIndividual animal management is currently available using a combination of electronic tagging devices, on farm management software, and recording hardware. Unique identification of animals is achieved using low frequency electronic ear tags (FDX and HDX technology). There are number of companies in the rural sector that provide specific management software, or you can even use simple programs such as Microsoft Excel. The challenge for producers is not reading RFID tags on livestock - but more so linking into and accessing the management information on a producer’s PC - out in the yards. Consequently Creative Logistics developed the DataStock 2000 range of portable RFID readers. These hand held units are used for collecting a wide range of data very easily and accurately. In addition producers can access their own management data instantly wherever they are working. Data is linked to a PC using the common CSV format. This ensures DataStock 2000 readers can be used with a multitude of software platforms, and allows producers instant access to their livestock details. The DataStock 2000 reader has a range of unique features designed to maximize its benefits and versatility as a management tool: * There is no need to take your laptop or computer into the yards, data is stored and accessed on the DataStock reader * Access to livestock data instantly, wherever you are. If your management software can export CSV files, you can download your livestock data on to the DataStock reader. No programming is required to download data on to the reader * Animal details can be accessed by scanning the electronic tag, but also by typing a management or visual tag number– this feature is unique worldwide * The DataStock menu options and fields are configured specifically to suit each producers requirements – each DataStock is unique to your requirements * Data can be captured on a wide number of fields within activities, the options are virtually unlimited * Recording data is simple and more accurate than other manual methods * The DataStock 2000 can be plugged into weigh scales, portable printers, PC’s, and other on-farm equipment, making it a versatile and portable unit. * DataStock 2000 is compatible with any on-farm software that handles CSV files, including Excel, Stockbook, Woolpack, Woolclass, without any further software or programming. * Upload and download of files to and from the reader is simple and quick using supplied (free) software, and CSV files Examples of On Farm Innovation using DataStock Tracking Fleeces in a shearing shed or carcases through an abattoir is now made simpler, using Creative Logistics developed unique world’s first technology. Using the DataStock Read/Write Terminal, the unique animal ID - whether it is an electronic tag or a visual numbered tag - can be scanned and "written" to one or more electronic tags. These tags are attached to the fleece or carcass to ensure the animal ID is recorded at any further processes using specially developed proprietary software to transfer ID’s to read/write tags. Any ISO reader can read them at any stage, such as in-shed testing equipment. The tags are recycled and used over and over again to provide a very cost effective solution.
